In zijn Olympisch debuut heeft Gilles Thomas een stevige indruk gemaakt door foutloos te blijven in het zadel van Ermitage Kalone tijdens de teamkwalificatie. Zijn optreden straalde vertrouwen en controle uit, wat cruciaal was voor het succes van het Belgische team in deze fase van de competitie.
